Some Wisdom From Ben
20 down, 345 to go. In Seattle.
The elder statesman in Philadelphia at the writing of the Constitution, Benjamin Franklin was a man who didn't often speak up during the proceedings, but when he did - and sometimes others would read what he had to say for him - everyone listened. We would be wise to do so today as well.
"Think what you do when you run in debt; you give to another power over your liberty." Mr. Franklin wrote this in one of the pamphlets he published yearly for 26 years called Poor Richard's Almanac.
I often wonder just how much liberty we've given over to others as we've run into $18 trillion of debt.
